Jennifer began working for the insurance industry in 1994 as a paralegal in a large litigation practice. After admission as a solicitor in 1999, Jennifer gained valuable perspective working in a Plaintiff personal injury practice handling workers compensation, CTP claims and public liability claims before returning to defendant insurance litigation work in 2002.

Over years of practice Jennifer has developed enviable expertise in all aspects of insurance litigation including medical negligence claims for hospitals and medical practitioners, professional negligence claims for solicitors in New South Wales and Victoria, public liability claims and has represented clients in the High Court of Australia, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, District Court and Local Court.

Jennifer joined McCulloch & Buggy in 2013 and has since specialised in public liability, personal injury and property damage claims on behalf of local councils, supermarket owners, clubs and hotel owners.

Jennifer is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the Law Society of New South Wales.

Richard Oldfield

Richard joined McCulloch & Buggy in 1991. Since that time he has acted extensively for the insurance industry and self-insured bodies and strata clients.

His work concentrates on public liability, products liability and professional indemnity but also covers diverse insurance lines including personal accident, Industrial Specialist Risk, Directors & Officers and Home Owners Warranty claims.

Richard is heavily involved in representing local government clients and has run several leading appeal cases dealing with defences available under the Civil Liability Act 2002 relating to obvious risks, risk warnings, dangerous recreational activities and non-feasance.

His work for the strata industry covers personal injury, property damage and office bearers liability claims.

With experience spanning a wide range of insurance lines and industries, Richard has acted for underwriters in Australia and overseas.

Richard also represents a range of litigation clients with recent cases covering claims against financial institutions, debt recoveries, commercial disputes and urgent injunctions.

Since being admitted to practice as a solicitor in 1987, Mark has been involved in litigation and insurance work.

Mark specialises in public liability, products liability and professional indemnity. His major clients include a national operator of supermarkets and hardware stores, real estate agents and landlords.

His work involves wide ranging causes of action including defamation, assault and wrongful imprisonment. 

Mark has been active in the Dust Diseases Tribunal since its inception in 1989. Now one of Australia’s leading dust diseases lawyers, Mark acts for clients across the country.

In the early years of his career Mark concentrated on workers compensation and CTP matters. Over his years of practice Mark has developed expertise covering the gamut of insurance and litigation matters. His general litigation work has included defence of environmental and WorkCover prosecutions, inquests and commercial disputes.

Duncan Stuart

Duncan was admitted to practice as a lawyer in 1989, he joined McCulloch & Buggy 2 years later. Since that time he has worked across all areas of insurance, litigation and strata law.

Over the years Duncan has acted extensively in workers compensation and CTP matters. He now focuses on strata insurance and building cases acting for strata insurers, owners corporations and property owners.

Duncan has handled numerous large and complex property recoveries on behalf of strata insurers, and Home Owners Warranties claims on behalf of strata plans. He also advises strata plans on administration and litigation matters. Duncan prides himself on providing practical solutions for his clients, bringing swift, cost effective results.

As an active member of the Strata Community Association, Duncan’s engagement with the strata industry means he is able to bring synergies to both insurers and owners corporations.

Duncan also brings expertise covering a wide range of general litigation matters including trade mark disputes, debt recoveries and property disputes.
